A waterway project is actively promoted in South Hwanghae Province as a step to supply fresh water of the Lake Kangryong to the vast fields.
The project needs to dispose of earth of over 200,000 cubic metres and build a lot of structures including pumping stations.
If the project is finished, water can be fully supplied to thousands of hectares of farmlands including 1,200 hectares of newly-reclaimed tideland-turned rice fields as well as Sigyo-, Kwangchon- and Inbong-ris of Kangryong County that had suffered from shortage of water.
The province dynamically pushed forward with the project by making the most of its internal reserves and potentialities, forming the whole waterway in the main in a short period.
On the other hand, officials, workers and technicians of relevant units are working hard to carry out the task of production of equipment including large-size water pump, electric motor and transformer.
