A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry referred to the role of BRICS at a press conference on February 22.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro Moros recently said that the old colonialist world full of wars, interference and annihilation of races is being replaced by a new world led by BRICS at the present time.
Answering a question as to this, the spokesman said that BRICS, as a newly emerging market and an important arena for cooperation between developing countries, has consistently put efforts into defending multilateralism and taken an active part in the world economic management to encourage the international order to develop in a fairer and more rational way.
The common desire of developing countries aspiring after unity and progress and opposing external interference is growing stronger day by day, he asserted.
China will continue to strengthen the strategic partnership of BRICS with every member state and expand and develop practical cooperation in all fields, he stressed.
