There are many monumental creations named after youth in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Among them is the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station, a large-scale hydropower station.
The power station was built by young people.
The letters of "Heroic Youth" are seen on its dam. And all others of the power station were named after "heroic youth", including the Lake Paektu Hero Youth, the Monument to Feats of Heroic Youth shining with gold star and the Paektusan Hero Youth Exploits Exhibition Hall.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the construction site of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station on several occasions including September 13, Juche 104(2015). He said our young people are really great and all of them are heroes and heroines, named the power station the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station and ensured that the education room under construction was built into the Paektusan Hero Youth Exploits Exhibition Hall.
And he saw that the Monument to Feats of Heroic Youth was built well and the letters reading "Heroic Youth" were written on the dam of Unit 1 of the power station in order to tell forever the exploits performed by young people in the construction of the power station.
Choe Myong Guk, Brigade Commander of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade, says:
"The respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un called us heroic youth, saying the completion of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station is the feat of the heroic youth which can be performed only by the Korean young people, and made us widely known all over.
He also gave us a task to build a street which would be a model in the capital city construction, showing his greatest trust in us.
Whenever opportunities permitted, he sent us gifts and named the new street Jonwi Street so as to add eternal brilliance to the merits of our young people."
The appellation of youth has become a synonym for miracles and feats in the DPRK under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un who brings up the young people as heroes with his great love for and trust in them.
