Opening ceremony of the 11th Sports Contest in the Field of Public Health was held at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium.
Present there were Vice-Premier Jon Sung Guk, Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea Choe Tong Myong, officials concerned, officials in the field of public health, players and employees of the hospitals under the central authority and the Academy of Medical Science.
Vice-Minister of Public Health Pak Hak Gyong made an opening address.
The opening ceremony was followed by a march-past of players and a men's volleyball match between the teams of the Namsan Hospital and the Okryu Children's Hospital.
The sports contest will be held at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium and other places, divided into two groups. The players will compete in various events such as basketball, volleyball, table tennis, tennis, badminton, tug of war and Taekwon-Do.
