The Ministry of Land and Maritime Transport is taking detailed measures to supply materials and equipment needed for strengthening the material and technical foundations of harbour and water transport.
Officials of the ministry solve the problems arising in the expansion project of the open storage ground of containerport, the manufacture of crane and the remodelling of Wharf No. 3 at the Nampho Port. At the same time, they encourage the technicians and workers of the port to display their creative activity in carrying them out.
While promoting the technical preparations for rebuilding the Haeju Port on a modern basis, they are pushing ahead with the remodelling of ports including the completion of pre-fab parts assembly in the section of hundreds of metres at Sohang Wharf No. 3 of the Chongjin Port.
On the basis of grasping the number of cargo ships of the vessel operation units, they have established well-organized transport command system of all the cargo ships and take measures to carry out freight transportation at different ports including the Chongjin Port.
The ministry demands the ports concerned to dovetail the entry and departure times of cargo ships and the shipping and unloading of freights and increase the working ratio of all the cargo ships by carrying out their repairing plans.
