Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- The second workshop of officials in the field of information work of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) took place at the People's Palace of Culture from April 20 to 23.

The workshop was aimed at enhancing the ideological spirit and mode of activities of the officials in the field of information work of the Party to orient all the people's loyalty and inexhaustible strength and enthusiasm resulting from patriotism to the building of a thriving nation, as required by the great era of change when the important revolutionary undertakings for accelerating the advance and development of Korean-style socialism are launched one after another, and at taking measures to bring about marked and substantial improvement in the Party's ideological work.

The workshop dealt with the urgent and pressing issues arising in clearly establishing the main line of Party ideological work at present and giving full play to the might of the ideological campaign.

Present there were officials of the Information and Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the WPK and relevant departments including Ri Il Hwan, Ju Chang Il, Ri Tu Song and Ri Hye Jong, officials of the information and publicity departments of the provincial, city and county Party committees and the Party committees performing similar functions, information officials of ministries, national agencies, institutions, industrial establishments and farms, officials in the fields of preservation of revolutionary relics, literature and arts and media, and officials of party cadre training organs and working people's organizations.

Instructions given by Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, on improving the ideological work of the Party were courteously conveyed.

Ri Il Hwan, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, made a report.

The reporter said that the second workshop of officials in the field of information work of the WPK was of weighty significance in making all the information workers of the Party deeply recognize once again the importance and urgency of innovating ideological work and dynamically wage the ideological campaign to glorify the great era of Kim Jong Un with fresh awareness, insight, earnest inquiry and courageous efforts.

He stressed that the proud history and reality, in which the country makes uninterrupted innovations and successive leaps toward a bright future after achieving eye-opening successes in the building of a thriving country with strong army, braving all challenges and difficulties with firm faith in independence and the Korean-style way of creation, are precious fruits of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un 's leadership based on ideology-first principle.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un set it as the basic duty and general orientation of the Party ideological work to further strengthen the driving force of the Korean revolution by putting the modeling of the whole Party and society on the monolithic idea on a new high stage, and clarified in detail the tasks and ways for giving full play to the might of the information and motivation, he said.

Noting that the ideological work that does not meet the requirements of the development of the times and revolutionary practice cannot be faithful to its historic mission, the reporter said that the Party ideological work of the present era should be oriented to further cementing the single-minded unity of the whole Party and society centered on the Party Central Committee and inspiring all the people to the struggle for implementing the Party policies.

The report sternly analyzed the fact that Party organizations and officials in the field of Party information work failed to make clear improvement in the information and motivation work for their passive response to the rapidly changing reality.

The report stressed that if officials in the field of Party information work do not strive to acquire a high degree of political consciousness and versatile ability with the firm viewpoint and stand that they should be responsible for the ideological life of the Party members and other working people and the mental growth of the younger generation before the Party and the country, they can neither sense the aspiration and demand of the times nor find effective remedies for changing consciousness of people.

He underlined the need for them to be well versed in the revolutionary ideas of Kim Jong Un and intensify the ideological campaign to make the great truth the unique guidelines and precious mental pabulum for all the people's life and struggle.

When all the fronts of the ideological work of the Party, ranging from the fields of education, lecture and motivation to media, literature and arts, rise up with fresh appearances and vigour to lead the ideological spirit and revolutionary spirit of the masses, our own strength will grow stronger and the present phase will be put on a steady track of improvement.

He called on the Party information workers to bring about substantial innovations and changes in the Party ideological work under the revolutionary slogan "Let Party information workers become powerful loudspeakers and hi-fi amplifiers faithful to the Party Central Committee!" and thus strengthen the ideological and volitional unity and cohesion of the whole Party and society with Kim Jong Un as the one and only center in every way and make a tangible contribution to achieving the victory of the socialist cause of our own style.

A short course was given during the workshop for the information workers to bear deep in mind the important mission and duty, entrusted by the times and the revolution, the Party and the people, in accomplishing the sacred cause of imbuing the whole Party and society with the revolutionary ideas of Kim Jong Un and to grasp the theoretical and practical issues arising in bringing about substantial innovations in the overall ideological work.

It was given by Ri Il Hwan, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, vice department directors of the Information and Publicity Department of the WPK Central Committee, and educators of the Central Cadres Training School of the WPK.

All the participants attentively listened to the speakers with high political enthusiasm to fulfill the role of vanguard fighters of the times and buglers for advance who unite the revolutionary ranks more firmly to the intention and will of the Party Central Committee and powerfully inspire the masses to the struggle for the comprehensive development of socialist construction, true to the ideology-first politics of the respected General Secretary.

The short course first heard a lecture on concentrating all efforts of the Party ideological work on imbuing the whole Party and society with the revolutionary ideas of Kim Jong Un .

The short course then also dealt with the issue of bringing about a fresh turn in the preservation of revolutionary relics and the education in the leadership exploits of the Party, the issue of steadily improving the forms and methods of information and motivation activities as required by the times, and the issue of making the whole country seethe with the revolutionary spirit representing the great era of Kim Jong Un and the new Chollima spirit.

The course also dealt with the issue of more thoroughly establishing the revolutionary climate of study throughout the Party by decisively improving the method of study, the issue of further enhancing the might of visual aids-based information and motivational work so as to make the whole country seethe with the revolutionary ideas of the Party Central Committee and the efforts for implementing the Party policies, and the issue of dynamically promoting the comprehensive development of socialism by conducting a more dynamic three-revolution red flag movement.

Through the course, the participants grasped again the main duty and core tasks for the Party ideological work at present, learned effective methodology and the best methods for bringing about improvement in the present information and motivational activities, and further cultivated their political and practical qualifications and practical ability.

A letter of pledge to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the workshop. -0-
