The Second Workshop of Information Officials of the Workers' Party of Korea took place at the People's Palace of Culture between April 20 and 23.

The workshop was aimed at renovating the ideology and spirit and mode of activities of the information officials of the Party who should encourage the entire people to devote all their inexhaustible strength and passion of loyalty and patriotism to the building of a prosperous and powerful nation and at taking measures to bring about a clear and substantial improvement in the Party's ideological work in keeping with the demand of the times of great changes when important revolutionary undertakings are launched consecutively to accelerate the advance and development of Korean-style socialism.

The workshop dealt with the urgent issues for clearly establishing the principal line in the Party's ideological work and displaying the might of the ideological campaign to the full at present.

It was participated in by officials of the Information and Publicity Department and other departments concerned of the Central Committee of the WPK, officials of the information and publicity departments of the provincial, city and county Party committees and the Party committees performing the same function as they do, information officials of the ministries, national agencies and other institutions, industrial establishments and farms, officials in the fields of revolutionary relics preservation, art and literature and the press, and those of the Party cadres training institutions and working people's organizations.

The instructions of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the WPK, on improving and strengthening the Party's ideological work were courteously conveyed.

A report was made by Ri Il Hwan, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and Secretary of the Party Central Committee.

The reporter said Kim Jong Un set it as the basic duty and general direction of the Party's ideological work to further strengthen the driving force of the Korean revolution by imbuing the entire Party and the whole society with one ideology on a new high stage and presented concrete tasks and ways to fully display the might of the agitprop.

The ideas and theories advanced by Kim Jong Un are important guidelines to be maintained in the Party's ideological work, including the idea for the information officials of the Party to be high-power loudspeaker and noiseless amplifier loyal to the Party Central Committee and the idea on giving precedence to the ideological and theoretical building, eliminating the root cause of formalism and putting the ideological work on a scientific basis, the reporter stressed.

A short course was given for making the information officials deeply remember once again the important mission and duty given by the times and revolution, the Party and people, in accomplishing the sacred cause of modelling the entire Party and the whole society on the revolutionary idea of Kim Jong Un and grasp the ideological and theoretical issues arising in effecting substantial innovations in the ideological work as a whole.

Lectures were given by Ri Il Hwan, Secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, Deputy Directors of the Information and Publicity Department of the Party Central Committee and educators of the Central Cadres Training School of the WPK.
