A few days ago, a woman stepped into the main entrance to the Phyongsong Orphanage.
She was Pak Yun Hui, a resident of Neighbourhood Unit No. 60 in Yogap-dong of Phyongsong City.
Employees and officials of the orphanage were impressed by her as she came again though it was not long after she visited it with materials necessary for orphans.
It is not long since she began to go to see the orphaned children.
They, however, came to regard her as their own grandmother as she frequently visited the orphanage to show them warm affection.
The following tells why she began to visit the orphanage.
Three years ago, she was invited as one of special delegates to the celebrations of the 75th founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army to have a great honour. Back home, she fell in deep thought.
“I only did what I should do for the country as one of its citizens. However, the state invited me to the event of glory. How can I repay such benevolence?” she thought.
The thought never escaped her while she was spending days and months taking the lead in doing things for KPA service personnel. Then one day she happened to pass by the orphanage.
Seeing the orphans growing happily at the orphanage built by the state, she had a mind to do something to contribute to their growth.
She has since visited the orphanage with foods conducive to the growth of children.
“Of course, I sometimes felt difficulties but I feel very pleased to imagine the orphans growing up to be pillars of the country,” she said.
Whenever seeing her showing all her affection for the children like she does for her own grandchildren, employees and officials of the orphanage admire her as a really kind-hearted woman.
Her devotion to the future of the country continues invariably.
