In recent years the successful games of women's weightlifters of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea are in the limelight of the world weightlifting circles, who are demonstrating the dignity and stamina of Juche Korea at different international games.
The women's weightlifting event officiated by the International Weightlifting Federation is divided into 10 body weight categories and every body weight has world records respectively in snatch, clean and jerk and total.
In other words, there should be 30 world records but there is no world-record holder in snatch, clean and jerk and total of the women's 87-kilogram category as nobody passed the standard records set by the International Weightlifting Federation.
DPRK weightlifters had 12 world records after the 2024 Asian Weightlifting Championships. But they came to have 13 as Won Hyon Sim made a new world record in snatch of the women's 45-kilogram category at the 2024 IWF World Cup held some time ago.
At present, the DPRK with 13 world records equivalent to 50 percent of the women's weightlifting world records is taking the first place in the ranking of world-record holders.
