The Spring Clothes Show-2024 took place at the Three-Revolution Exhibition House between April 29 and May 10, adding to the warm feelings in the balmy spring season.

On show at the exhibition, held on the theme of "As resplendently as our era, as beautifully as our ideal", were at least 50 000 pieces of spring and summer clothing for men, women and children of over 20 kinds presented by more than 270 light industrial goods production units.

“The recent show was aimed at diversifying garment products as required by the public interest and aesthetic taste in the dressing culture which grow rapidly, leading the development of civilization in the new era,” said Yun Hong Gil, deputy secretary general of the Korean Garment Industry Association.

The main characteristic of the recent exhibition was that a separate section was dedicated to the exhibition of garment designs.

On display there were hundreds of new and original designs of clothes created by the Korean Industrial Design Studio of the Central Industrial Design Bureau, Pyongyang University of Fine Arts, Unha Technology Preparation Centre and other units. They captured modern beauty and satisfied the tastes and emotional demand of the people.

Among them were men's suits with round lapels unlike the previous ones and children's T-shirts with the national bird emblazoned on them.

As the rounds of clothes shows increase, the level of garment processing at the exhibiting units has markedly been improved, said Ri Jong A, section chief of the Garment Institute under the Ministry of Regional Industry. “Now when new garment designs are produced, every unit makes any product in high quality by selecting cloth and establishing proper processing techniques accordingly.”

The exhibition venue was crowded with visitors every day.

Many people approved the show, saying that they liked all the products as they were non-repetitive and soft yet dignified in colour and had elegance of their own.

Also exhibited at the show were bags, hats, brooches and other favourite articles of women which enhance their refined beauty and popular cosmetics.

There was a short course during the exhibition.

At the course, authoritative technical officials of the Korean Garment Industry Association gave lectures on the harmony of dressing according to different figures of people and material selection and processing skills for it, problems arising in the design of shapes of sleeves, the principles of applying display techniques at clothes show, ways of employing service techniques and others.
