Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryavkov decried the US moves to maintain political and military domination at a press conference on May 22.
The US dislikes everything that is not under its control, especially that is not directly uncontrollable, he said, adding that it does not recognize everything that is out of its control.
He exposed that backstage manoeuvrings are conducted to destroy the BRICS, frustrate its plan and hamper the activities of its organizations.
And the US Defense Department’s accusation that Russia launched a balloon capable of carrying anti-satellite weapons is a false rumour, he said. Russia does not change its policy at Americans’ random remarks, he said, noting that Moscow opposes the deployment of offensive means in the orbit around the earth.
If the US is really interested in bolstering up security in the field of outer space, it should first reconsider its attitude toward Russia’s proposal for drawing up a treaty on the prevention of arms race in space, he stressed.
