Kim Tok Hun, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of different sectors.
Looking round several farms in Sukchon and Mundok counties of South Phyongan Province, he stressed the need to scientifically analyse the growth state of the crops including paddy rice and cultivate them well according to its result, actively apply advanced farming methods and techniques, and take thoroughgoing measures to minimize the damages from disastrous abnormal climate such as flood and heavy rain and high wind.
He pointed out that due attention should be paid to making full preparations for next year's farming on the basis of experiences gained in the cultivation of wheat and barley this year and raising the wheat processing capacity and technology.
Premier Kim acquainted himself with the production at the Kusong Machine Tool Factory and called on its officials and workers to concentrate all efforts on the modernization project, bearing in mind the Party's intention to put the machine-building industry of the country on a new high level.
At the Mangyongdae Highway Marking Factory, he said the duty of the factory is very important in face-lifting the highways and underscored the need to produce different kinds of highway markings in a qualitative way by constantly raising the level of scientification of production processes and increasing the production capacity.
The consultative meetings held on the spot discussed relevant issues and took necessary measures.
