Paper Calls on Officials to Strive for Sure Guarantee of Fulfillment of Five-Year Plan

Pyongyang, July 11 (KCNA) -- In order to provide a definite guarantee for the fulfillment of the Five-Year Plan this year, all officials should roll up their sleeves and display extraordinary devotion and strong executive ability to unconditionally carry out the political tasks set forth before their fields and units, says Rodong Sinmun Thursday in an editorial. The extraordinary devotion and persistent executive power of officials result in the level of development of relevant units and the dynamic advance of Korean-style socialism, the editorial says, and goes on: We are now in the middle of the fourth year of the implementation of the fighting programme set forth by the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea. Success in carrying out the tasks planned for this year depends entirely on the officials. The order of standing of sectors and units in implementing the decisions of the plenary meeting of the WPK Central Committee is decided by the level and ability of their officials. The Tenth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK discussed the issue of improving the officials’ method and style of work as an important agenda item and set forth concrete ways for making sure that all officials acquire genuine communist qualifications and traits. This is because officials’ responsibility and role are of utmost importance in further promoting the overall development of the country and in ensuring the prospect of the revolution and strengthening and developing the Party. Very great are the trust and expectations of the Party and the people in the officials at this most important and responsible moment in the history of development of the DPRK. The editorial calls upon all officials, as befitting the leading personnel of the revolution who grew up under the care of the WPK, to attain without fail the goals of struggle set forth by the Party Central Committee with their extraordinary devotion and tenacious executive ability to provide a sure guarantee for the fulfillment of the Five-Year Plan this year.
