A joint memorial service in the Asia-Pacific region “President Kim Il Sung, prominent leader of the cause of independence for humankind” was held in Kathmandu on July 7 under the co-sponsorship of the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee for Friendship and Solidarity with the Korean People, the Nepalese National Committee for Honouring the Memory of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and the Nepal-Korea Friendship Association on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the demise of the President.
Present there were personages of the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee, political parties and organizations of different countries including Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Australia, Britain and Ecuador, members of the Juche idea study groups and organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people.
An appeal from the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee for Friendship and Solidarity with the Korean People to the world peace-loving people was issued at the meeting.
The appeal called on the organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people in various countries and the world peace-loving people to widely introduce and propagate the reality of the DPRK which has brought about remarkable events and changes in succession in the world political trend as well as the development of the state as a leading country in defending independence and peace and extend full support and solidarity to the just cause of the Korean people.
A message to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.
