An enlarged plenary meeting of the Cabinet was held on the 19th to carry through the decisions of the Tenth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
The meeting discussed and decided on important issues for the Cabinet to strengthen its ability to grasp and guide the overall economic work in every way and thus provide a sure guarantee to the successful implementation of all its tasks according to the main direction of work and policy of struggle in the second half of the year adopted and clarified by the plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee.
It was guided by Kim Tok Hun, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Present at the meeting were Vice-Premiers Pak Jong Gun, Pak Hun, Jon Sung Guk, Jong Myong Su and other members of the Cabinet.
Also on hand as observers were officials of the organs directly under the Cabinet, ministries and national agencies, chairpersons of the provincial, city and county people's committees, and officials of the agricultural guidance organs and major industrial establishments.
Premier Kim Tok Hun informed the participants of the tasks presented at the Tenth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee.
Speeches were made at the meeting.
The speakers expressed their resolve to display their unusual spirit of devotion and strong executive ability in the struggle for implementing the Party's decisions in the second half of the year, full of confidence in the validity and victory of their cause and thus attain the goals of struggle set by the Party Central Committee unconditionally.
Premier Kim Tok Hun emphasized that all the officials should reject the mechanical and preset work attitude and formalism, showy work manner, subjectivity and dogmatism, abuse of authority and bureaucratism in the struggle for carrying through the decisions of the plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee and bring about a substantial change and good result with new determination and thus glorify this year as a new and significant year.
A supplementary decision was adopted with unanimous approval at the meeting, which indicated more detailed and scientific practical ways for improving the work of the Cabinet and the administrative and economic work of the state.
