Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, visited the Friendship Tower on July 26 on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.
He was accompanied by Choe Son Hui, foreign minister of the DPRK, and Kim Song Nam, director of the International Department of the WPK Central Committee.
A wreath in the name of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was laid amid the playing of the wreath-laying music.
On a ribbon of the wreath were letters reading "We will remember the martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers forever".
Kim Jong Un paid high tribute to the martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers who helped at the cost of their blood the Korean people in the revolutionary war for repulsing the brigandish armed invasion of the U.S. imperialists unto death.
There was a march-past of the guard of honor of the Korean People's Army.
Kim Jong Un went round the Friendship Tower, together with the cadres accompanying him.
He said that the victory of July 27, the peoples of the DPRK and China won in the most difficult period of the DPRK while sharing weal and woe in the same trench, is a great victory of significance in the human history whose vitality continues to be displayed no matter how much water has flowed under the bridge.
Saying that the military merit of the CPV men and officers registered in the DPRK's history of war victory would be kept in the minds of the Korean people as an eternal gold star symbolic of feats, he expressed belief that the DPRK-China friendship established as the ties of kindred would be firmly carried forward and developed along with the immortal spirit of the martyrs. -0-
