It is an intention of the Workers’ Party of Korea at present to put the country’s machine-building industry on a modern footing as soon as possible and make it lead and drive the overall economy.
Since long ago the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un has vigorously led the work to make the factories and enterprises in the sector on a modern, digitized, automated and IT-based.
When he gave on-site guidance at a machine-building factory on March 1, 2016, he looked round various places of the factory, acquainting himself in detail with its production and the performance and quality of the assembled machines.
Stressing the need to shift the factory’s production and technology management not simply into a prototype-copying process but into a development-oriented and innovative one, he said that he came to the factory with an intention to modernize it and thereby build a new springboard for the development of the country’s machine-building industry.
It is an intention of the Workers’ Party of Korea to develop this factory into a world-class producer of ultra-modern machines and its modernization should be regarded as an undertaking of strategic significance as it is decisive of the future of the country’s machine-building industry, he added.
Then he clarified the issues related with its modernization including those of making the guidance over production and business management IT-based and putting production processes on an unmanned, automated and assembly-line basis, equipping the factory with the latest measuring apparatuses and building up an excellent sci-tech learning space so as to help the factory’s technicians and other employees learn modern scientific and technological knowledge and the world trend of the development of machine-building industry.
Later, the factory was renovated under his guidance into an innovation-driven factory, into a trailblazer and buttress of the country’s industry, which is capable of turning out world-famous products.
