Pyongyang, September 29 (KCNA) -- Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, inspected the agricultural sector and the flood-hit areas where a recovery campaign is underway in North Hwanghae Province.
Learning about the farming in Pakchon and Kwaksan counties, he urged the agricultural officials to provide practical guidance over farming in order to successfully conclude this year's farming, mindful of the importance of their duty in attaining the grain production goal set by the Party.
He stressed the need for farms to put spurs to raising the per-hectare yield to the maximum, correctly measure the ripening rate of rice ears in each area and field, and concentrate efforts and means on successfully finishing the rice harvesting in the right time.
He called for applying scientific methods to do early-ripening crops farming well next year on the basis of the successes and experience gained in the early crop farming this year, and carrying out without fail the plan for each immediate farming process including winter wheat and barley sowing.
In the flood-hit areas of Sinuiju City and Uiju County where the recovery campaign is underway, he encouraged the builders who are devoting themselves to construction, true to the noble intention of the Party Central Committee to provide the people in the flood-hit areas with a stable life as early as possible, and learned in detail about the construction.
He called upon the construction units to push forward with the construction projects as scheduled under a detailed plan and pay primary attention to ensuring quality in construction and strictly preserving the requirements of the construction method, given the construction proceeding in a three-dimensional way in different areas.
The field consultative meetings discussed the issues of directing efforts to the study of farming techniques appropriate to weather conditions, properly keeping and managing the harvested grains, making good preparations for next year's farming, increasing the proportion of mechanization in construction, building up the ranks of skilled workers, supplying materials and equipment in good time and paying deep attention to ensuring the living of builders. -0-
