The DPRK-Russia IT Products Exhibition-2024 opened in Pyongyang in the name of the sub-committee for post and telecommunications, information technology and digital development under the DPRK-Russia Inter-governmental Committee for Cooperation in Trade, Economy, Science and Technology.
Presented to the exhibition, held on the theme of "IT and digital development and cooperation", are high-tech IT products and scientific and technological achievements developed by educational and scientific research units and enterprises of the DPRK and the Russian Federation.
During the exhibition there will be a presentation and a working-level meeting for exchange and cooperation in the fields of IT and digital development between the two countries.
An opening ceremony took place at the Sci-Tech Complex on October 29.
Present there were Ju Yong Il, minister of IT Industry, Jon Kyong, vice-chairman of the State Commission of Science and Technology, officials concerned, officials, teachers, researchers and technicians of the exhibiting units, and the delegation of the DPRK-Russia IT products exhibition led by Andrei Zarenin, vice-minister of Digital Development, Post and Telecommunications and Public Information of the Russian Federation, and Alexandr Matsegora, Russian ambassador to the DPRK, and his embassy staff members.
Ju Yong Il made an opening address and Andrei Zarenin made a congratulatory speech.
The speakers noted that the DPRK-Russia friendly and cooperative relations are developing into a high stage of comprehensive strategic partnership under the energetic guidance of the top leaders of the two countries, adding that the exhibition will contribute to strengthening exchange and cooperation in the field of science and technology including IT, thereby promoting the economic development and civilization.
They expressed the stand to further develop cooperation in the field of IT, saying that the multi-faceted bilateral exchange and cooperation fully accord with the interests of the peoples of the two countries.
That evening the DPRK Ministry of IT Industry hosted a reception at the Pyongyang Koryo Hotel to welcome the Russian delegation led by Vice-Minister Andrei Zarenin.
