Tablet of President Kim Il Sung's first official visit to USSR unveiled in Russia

FMs of DPRK and Russia participate in event of unveiling tablet   A tablet of the first official visit to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) by the great leader Kim Il Sung was put up at the Yaroslavl Railway Station in Moscow of Russia.

The tablet has Russian and Korean letters reading; "Comrade Kim Il Sung, Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, arrived at the Yaroslavl Railway Station of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on March 3, 1949."

An event of unveiling the tablet was held on the spot on November 1.

Before the event, a floral basket was laid in front of the tablet.

Present at the event were Choe Son Hui, Foreign Minister of the DPRK, and Sergei Lavrov, Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation.

Also on hand were personages of different sections of Russia including the Federation Council, the State Duma, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology and the Railways Company, the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the DPRK to Russia and staff members of his embassy.

The tablet was introduced before it was unveiled amid the playing of music.

Then, speeches were made.

Sergei Lavrov said this significant event makes him recollect the time when the two countries established the relations of mutual cooperation and close friendship and the inseparable practical partnership and added that Comrade Kim Il Sung's visit to the USSR is one of the most important milestones at that time.

He mentioned that the Russia-DPRK cooperative relations are further accelerated in all fields on a new high level under the leadership of President of the State Affairs Kim Jong Un and President Vladimir Putin.

He also said it is a great historic event that President Putin visited the DPRK in the wake of the summit meeting in Vostochnyy and stressed that the treaty on the comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and the DPRK has been already put at the practical stage in the interests of the peoples of the two countries.

Choe Son Hui said in her speech that it is a pleasure for her to take part in the event of unveiling the tablet of the first official visit to the USSR by Kim Il Sung who performed the immortal exploits for the development of relations between the DPRK and Russia.

She also said greater importance is attached to the strategic value and significance of the DPRK-Russia relations amid the grave international political environment thanks to the warm and close comradely relationship and strategic guidance of Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation.

She expressed the belief that the Russian army and people in their just fight for establishing a new international order would surely win a victory under the wise leadership of President Putin and the great friendship and unity between the peoples of the two countries who have established the future-oriented relations between states and fought shoulder to shoulder to realize the common purpose would be firmly carried forward and developed in the new era of all-round efflorescence.
