The bright smile of the children is regarded as a symbol of the socialist system in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The childcare policy of the Workers' Party of Korea is to supply the children with dairy products and other nourishing foods at the state expense.
The Third Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK held in June 2021 discussed an issue on improving and strengthening the childcare policy of the Party.
At the meeting, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, said no revolutionary work is more important than bringing up the children, the future of the country, stoutly and well and it is the most important policy and greatest desire of our Party and state to provide better conditions for bringing them up even by investing a colossal sum of money.
He also said it should be the way of advance and development of the Korean revolution to direct greater sincerity to the children in the face of hardships and vigorously go toward the future of communism by dint of love.
He always considers the work for the children to be the most important work of the WPK.
Thanks to his love and devotion, universal 12-year compulsory education has been enforced, creations for the children built across the country, school uniforms, shoes, bags and things supplied to the children, meetings of the Children's Union members organized as important state events.
The childcare policy discussed at the Party meeting was adopted as the DPRK Law on Childcare in February 2022.
