Pyongyang, January 3 (KCNA) -- A series of impeachment cases, unprecedented in history, broke out and a warrant for arresting the president was issued in the wake of the short-lived "Dec. 3 emergency martial law" in the puppet ROK, resulting in paralysis of its state administration and spiraling socio-political confusion.
An impeachment motion against puppet President Yoon Suk Yeol was passed at the puppet National Assembly on December 14 last year and even puppet Prime Minister Han Tok Su, who took over presidency instead of Yoon, was also impeached on December 27.
Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigation Office for high-ranking officials requested the arrest of Yoon who doggedly refuses to be investigated. When it had an arrest warrant issued by the puppet court later, it announced that it would enforce the arrest within the effective period till January 6.
An investigation into the case of the rebellion has been conducted in all aspects and the truth has come to light. But Yoon, chief culprit of the rebellion, stubbornly refuses to be investigated, totally denying his crimes with sheer lies.
The pro-Yoon clan of the ruling "People Power Party" is shielding Yoon, displeased with the warrant issued for arresting him, for their dirty partisan interests. It seeks to reverse the impeachment-oriented trend, frontally challenging the public demand for impeachment.
In response to it, the opposition parties are intensifying their political offensive and pressure, saying even "serial impeachment" of all state council members eligible for presidency may occur in case their demand is not met.
In the new year, too, mammoth public candlelight rallies, demonstrations, marches and other protest actions are taking place in Seoul every day, under slogans that call for ousting Yoon and dissolving the "People Power Party."
More than 500 000 people of various circles, involved in the protests, termed the Yoon's attempted rebellion was a crime to deprive the people of their sovereignty by holding them hostage, and that uneasiness has become a daily occurrence due to Yoon who declared martial law against the people, accusing him of having fomented unrest through ceaseless war drills with the U.S. and Japan and declared even martial law to maintain his power.
Reporting the impeachment of the acting president two weeks after the impeachment of Yoon who declared martial law, foreign media said that as Yoon is waiting for court decision over impeachment, an impeachment motion against the acting president was passed again to plunge the ROK deeper into an abyss of political upheaval and its oft-repeated liberal democracy has collapsed. -0-
