The Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea advanced specific ways for putting the country’s agricultural production on a track of stable and sustainable development.
The task facing the agricultural sector this year is to lay the foundations for decisively increasing agricultural production during the new long-term plan period.
Currently, the Agricultural Commission directs all its efforts to fundamentally improving the guidance over agricultural production with the main emphasis on working out strategies for the stable growth of the agricultural production and increasing per-hectare yield in all the farms across the country.
As an official in charge of the agricultural sector, I will push the work of training a larger number of talented personnel needed for the countryside by keeping in touch with the provincial, city and county agricultural guidance organs and relevant units and take timely measures to establish an on-line consultation system, a scientific farming guidance system, and introduce scientific farming methods by employing the system.
Along with this, I will continue to push forward the work to readjust and reinforce the irrigation system and establish the farming system and methods to cope with the disastrous abnormal weather conditions.
