The knowledge-based economy requires advanced education that increasingly trains talents and allows nations to advance to higher civilization through rapid development, vigor and great leaps. Hence, the competition in education is growing intense on a global scale.
It is in this context that the UN General Assembly at the 73 rd Session designated January 24 as the International Day of Education.
As saying goes that gold bullion is not as valuable as the education for one’s children, the greatest asset for the country comes from the upbringing of many more talents capable of fulfilling their duties in socio-economic development as well as the advanced education that propels social progress by discharging the heavy responsibility of the times.
In the glorious Kim Jong Un era, when our national prestige is significantly enhanced and the dream of a powerful country comes true, Juche-oriented education is taking on the features of advanced education, pushing forward the overall national prosperity and training all the people into sci-tech talents.
Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un saw to it that the universal 12-year compulsory education was implemented and took measures for updating curricula and improving learning environment in conformity with the needs of the new era. He also ensured that the Sci-Tech Complex was built wonderfully into a multifunctional sci-tech learning center, thus providing solid foundation for advanced education and make-all-people-science and technology-talents.
He stressed at the eleventh plenary meeting of the eighth Central Committee of Workers’ Party of Korea that education is the foremost state affair that requires tremendous effort at any time and at any stage and that it is the most important sector that should not allow a stagnation. There he clarified practical approaches to strengthening the educational foundation of the country.
It is our Party’s intention to develop our education into the most superior, ideal and advanced one in the world so that it can fully guarantee the future.
Under the wise leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , our people will surely bring about a new era of overall national prosperity and an era of a power more prosperous and promising along with the educational development.
