Throughout human history, any country or region accepted it as inevitable that differences and imbalance should exist in economic life between the capital city and provincial towns as well as among regions.

Even today, it is common practice to regard this as an unavoidable and natural phenomenon.

But, our country has undergone a modern makeover with steady and substantial results being achieved in implementing the most important state policy for regional rejuvenation – plans so grand that no one has ever dared to fulfil, let alone formulate.

Such brilliant reality is truly a miracle that cannot be understood with existing formulas and concepts.

All this is neither because we have wealth to spare nor better conditions and environment than others.

It is thanks to the warm love for the people cherished by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un .

He said that the happy laughter of the people is the symbol of socialism and absolute standard of national strength, True to his deep concerns and affection for the people, our country regards serving the people as the supreme principle in its activities and unfolds a new history of regional development unconceivable by any other country.

In the policy speech made at the 10 th Session of the 14 th Supreme People’s Assembly, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un set forth the “Regional Development 20x10 Policy” which aims to enhance the basic material and cultural living standards of the regional people across the country at the earliest date.

The core of the policy is that anyone born on this land should lead equally affluent and civilized lives under the socialist policies of the state – whether they live in the capital city or provincial towns, in urban areas or in mountain villages.

This is indeed the most just policy for ushering in a new era of comprehensive development of socialism.

Even in the countries boasting of strong developed economies and modern civilizations, jobless and homeless people are commonplace whereas the privileged few enjoy an extravagant lifestyle.

Such is the stark and undeniable reality in capitalist societies.

However, it is the intention of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to provide the beloved people with all the wealth and splendor.

That is why he carried on his restless revolutionary journey of love and devotion for the people throughout the year with a great determination to bring to reality what the world sees as impossible and formidable.

Witnessing with their own eyes the modern rural houses and regional industry factories popping up year after year, our people strengthen their resolve to live as patriots devoting themselves wholly to their precious fatherland and sacrificing themselves for the country and revolution.

Under the outstanding and seasoned leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , our country will meet a vigorous phase where all the cities and counties thrive and prosper in the near future.

And then the world will grasp the true meaning of a country where all the people are equally well-off.
