On the occasion of the 77th founding anniversary of the heroic Korean People's Army, all the service personnel and people of the DPRK paid the highest tribute to President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il who achieved the great cause of building the army by dint of self-reliance with their far-sightedness and original military idea for self-defence and outstanding commanding art and devoted their whole lives to training the revolutionary armed forces into the renowned elite army of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Commanding officers of the Ministry of National Defence including No Kwang Chol, Jong Kyong Thaek and Ri Yong Gil and commanders of the KPA services and large combined units visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche, on the occasion of the Day of Army Founding.
The Kumsusan Palace of the Sun where the eternal leaders of our powerful and dignified Party, state and people are preserved in their lifetime appearance was wrapped in the most solemn atmosphere.
A flower basket in the name of the KPA was laid before the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
The participants paid high tribute to them at the statues in reflection of the unanimous mind of all the service personnel of the armed forces of the DPRK.
At the halls where the great leaders lie in state, the participants paid homage to them in humblest reverence.
All the participants solemnly pledged to glorify the ever-victorious history and tradition of the Korean People's Army for all ages, firmly defend the inviolable sovereignty of the DPRK, our glorious country, and the honour of the Korean people and guarantee an era of comprehensive prosperity of our state with heroic struggle and brilliant feats, true to the idea and leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the greatest brilliant commander.
