The number of new "family members" is on the increase at the Central Zoo in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
This year, animals of seven kinds including two kinds of gift animals bred more than 30 off-springs.
The gift animal--Asiatic black bear--had brought forth a number of cubs while growing at the zoo for over 20 years. It has bred another cub on January 1 this year.
The number of pretty guinea pigs with various colours of fur has also increased.

Three cubs (two females and one male) bred by a Korean tiger in November last year are about 7 kilograms heavy on an average and about 60 centimetres long at present.
