Birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il celebrated in DPRK
The entire people in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea grandly celebrated the greatest holiday of the nation in February.
They visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the supreme temple of Juche where the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il are laid in state, and their bronze statues and mosaic murals in all parts of the country and paid respects to them.
Working people and youth and students visited the venues of photo exhibitions in the capital city and the provinces (cities under the direct control) and looked back with reverence upon the noble revolutionary lives of the great leaders.
Flags of the DPRK fluttered and various visual aids displayed in major places of Pyongyang and the provincial, city and county seats and at the institutions, industrial establishments and farms throughout the country.
A concert was given by the National Symphony Orchestra at the Moranbong Theatre and a song and dance performance by artistes of the Mansudae Art Troupe at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre. Performances were given in the capital city of Pyongyang and provinces.
That day, the public catering establishments across the country served their customers with diverse festive foods. Working people enjoyed themselves at the Central Zoo, the Natural History Museum and other bases for cultural and emotional life.
