This is Workteam Head Han Song Suk at the Taedonggang District Road Facilities Management Station. She has been working as a road keeper in the capital city of Pyongyang for more than 30 years.
What do the road keepers do?
They have to be on the road by the time when other people wake up, work exposing themselves to snow and rain and take care of the roads regardless of holidays and red-letter days.
Han Song Suk took on such a difficult work of her own accord. Graduating from middle school in 1991, she volunteered to work at the road facilities management station in which her mother was working.
She worked with her mother for five years.
Her mother always said to her:
"Everyone dislikes to hear that they have a flaw on their faces. As they make up their faces before the mirror, so the road keepers should take care of the roads regarding conscience as the mirror of their conduct."
Her words helped Han Song Suk go along the path of her own choice without deviation.
She made sincere efforts to take care of the roads and became a workteam head in her girlhood. Now she is respected as a Meritorious Person of Socialist Patriotism.
She pays attention not only to the repair of roads in the section under the charge of her workteam, but also to the road facilities, pavements and bus stops.
Always saying the harder they work, the more convenience will be provided to the people, she leads her workteam members through her personal examples.
What we see in her is the sincere attitude towards her job and the spirit of service for the people.
Thanks to such people, our streets are always beautiful and so is our life.
The pure and sincere mind devoted to the country and people is just patriotism.
