Korean residents in Japan significantly celebrated the auspicious national holiday in February when the great leader Generalissimo Kim Jong Il was born.
Officials of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and central organizations laid floral baskets and bouquets before the portrait of Generalissimo Kim Jong Il and paid tribute to him on the 14th.
A central meeting of Japan-resident Koreans was held at the Korean Hall in Tokyo that day in celebration of his 83rd birth anniversary.
Present at the meeting were Chairman Ho Jong Man, First Vice-Chairman and Director of the Organization Department Pak Ku Ho and vice-chairmen of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, Chairman of its Central Audit Committee Ri Myong Yu, members, school inspectors and advisers of its Central Standing Committee, the Director of the Research Institute on History of Korean Residents in Japan and the chairmen of the Chongryon headquarters in the Kanto area.
A report was made by First Vice-Chairman and Director of the Organization Department Pak Ku Ho.
He said Generalissimo Kim Jong Il knew nobody but the people and made painstaking efforts for them all his life, continued his field guidance tour for them in the whole period of his revolutionary leadership and devoted himself to them until the last moment of his great life, stressing that the history of his noble devotion to the people's well-being will never be forgotten.
The reporter noted that the glorious history of the homeland developed by Generalissimo Kim Jong Il throughout his life is carried forward under the leadership of the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un to shine more brightly all over the world.
A congratulatory letter to Marshal Kim Jong Un was read out at the meeting.
A central lecture meeting took place at the Korean Hall on the 15th to celebrate the 83rd birth anniversary of Generalissimo Kim Jong Il.
It was attended by members and other officials of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon.
It screened the lecture program "Noble Comradeship".
The program impressively showed that the comradeship of Generalissimo Kim Jong Il is a warm trust and love of firmly believing in comrades and dedicating himself entirely to them and a do-or-die devotion of braving any danger without hesitation for them.
