To Produce More New Goods with Distinctive Features of Their Regions

Regional-industry factories across the country are now waging a brisk campaign for producing new goods with distinctive features of their regions, as the Party’s policy indicated that cities and counties should make good use of seas in the coastal areas and mountains in the mountainous areas.

The Songchon Foodstuff Factory, using the famous Songchon chestnut, produces fruit jam and sweet jelly; the Sukchon Foodstuff Factory in coastal area, various kinds of pickled dishes such as salted anchovies and salted shellfish; the foodstuff factories in Kim Hyong Jik and Tongsin counties produce drinks with wild pears, fruits of Actinidia arguta, wild grapes and other wild fruits as materials for production.

At the foodstuff factory in Kosan County produces bottled apple and pear; one of Jaeryong County, bar rice cake and other specific goods.

Not only foodstuff factories but also essential goods factories and garment factories in the cities and counties now produce various kinds of plastic vessels, furniture and clothes which are favorite among consumers.

Technical Skills of Employees Improve

It is not long since the regional-industry factories in 20 cities and counties were inaugurated.

In the meantime, employees of the relevant units have become well versed in technical skills.

The Party committees in the cities and counties push ahead with the work for improving practical qualifications and abilities of the employees in those factories, regarding it as an important political task.

The regional-industry factories including the Songchon County Foodstuff Factory, the Jaeryong County Essential Goods Factory and the Hamju County Garment Factory run the sci-tech dissemination rooms methodologically with the viewpoint that improvement of employees’ technical skills decides the quality of products.

Meanwhile, they help the workers and technicians to enroll the tele-education system of several universities such as Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry and Pyongyang Jang Chol Gu University of Commerce.

In addition, they organize the sci-tech lectures and technical short courses for the employees in close connection with scientists and technicians from central authorities.

Now the employees of those regional-industry factories are encouraging themselves to repay the Party’s loving care and trust with improvement of their practical qualifications and technical skills.

As a result, numbers of workers have enrolled in the study-while-working system after the inauguration and many of them have improved their technical skills onto a higher level.
