Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- More than 300 graduate students of senior middle schools in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, have volunteered for military service at forefront border posts, out of the ardent desire to devote their youth and hope to upholding the socialist cause with arms, amid the patriotic will of the rising generation growing stronger to add eternal luster to our ideology, system and beloved country.

A meeting took place at the Pyongyang Municipal Youth Park Open-Air Theatre on Wednesday to congratulate them who are leaving for the forefront of defending the country, regarding the national defence as the most vivid expression of patriotism, the most sacred duty and the first mission.

A congratulatory address was made at the meeting.

The speaker warmly congratulated the graduate students who vowed to serve at the military posts for national defence with the will to record the immortal military feats on their personal accounts before anything else, though there are many places to go from the campus associated with the unforgettable memories of their school days and many workplaces to translate their dreams and ideals into reality.

It is the highest honor and pride of the young people in the present era to glorify their youth in the military uniform of the revolution, the speaker said, requesting the volunteers to adorn every moment of their military service with loyalty and patriotic feats.

Then there were speeches of volunteers.

They expressed their determination to reliably defend peace and security on this land from the enemies' aggression and challenge at the forefront of national defence, saying that it is the proud tradition of the Korean youth to take arms of defenders for the very precious motherland.

DPRK Hero Ho Ryong, a lecturer of the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, handed over the national flag of the DPRK shining as the symbol of heroism and victory of Juche Korea to the reliable volunteers.

The volunteers and participants in the meeting broke out shouts of ardent determination to fully display the stamina and mettle of the Korean youth by carrying forward the spirit of the victorious wartime generation, with ardent patriotism and love for the country and the people and the will to annihilate the enemy.

The proud stride of the volunteers in the capital city toward the outposts is a manifestation of the noble mental world of the rising generation determined to share the destiny with the country to the last after realizing how precious the country is under the care of the Party. -0-
