In recent years, new streets have been built in Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, every year, widening the urban areas and changing the appearance of the capital city.
Songhwa, Hwasong, Rimhung and Jonwi streets were erected one after another, the third-stage 10,000 flats in the Hwasong area are nearing inauguration and the ground was broken for the fourth-stage project to build 10,000 flats in the Hwasong area on February 16.
This is the long-cherished work prepared by the Workers' Party of Korea with a great determination.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un set forth the construction of 50,000 flats in Pyongyang as the most important task of our Party and government with a plan to turn it into a world-class city embodying the people-first principle.
He saw that a large share of the total state budget for construction was appropriated for the housing construction and on the basis of the plan and preparations for its implementation, he made it a policy to build 50,000 flats at the Eighth Congress of the WPK held in January 2021.
And he indicated a concrete orientation and ways for construction ranging from many designs to the formation of construction forces, building work and supply of materials.
When the ground was broken to build 10,000 flats in Pyongyang for the first time on March 23, 2021, he ardently called for changing the capital city magnificently once again with the construction of 50,000 flats.
For the future of our capital city to be more beautiful and magnificent and for our parents, brothers and sisters and children who will create and enjoy a new civilization to the full there!
With such noble intention, he examined lots of designs even at midnight and early in the morning and gave specific instructions on the details of street formation.
The construction of 50,000 flats in Pyongyang started like this and has entered the final stage at last this year.
February 16 witnessed the splendid groundbreaking ceremony for the fourth-stage project to build 10,000 flats in the Hwasong area, the final stage of the construction of 50,000 flats in Pyongyang.
Kim Jong Un took part in the ceremony and stressed that housing construction in Pyongyang should continue until the Party's plan is turned into reality to provide its citizens with perfect conditions for leading a civilized and happy life without any inconvenience.
Thanks to his devotion and painstaking efforts, new modern streets have been built every year, opening up a new heyday of Pyongyang.
