The Korean Central News Agency released a commentary under the title "Those Who Ordered the Toughest Counteraction of Our State Will Pay a Gruesome Price".
The commentary said bleak wind of war blows in the south of the Korean peninsula exactly in March, and continued:
The US-ROK large-scale joint military drills codenamed "Freedom Shield" simulating a total war on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea will be staged in the Republic of Korea from next week.
No matter how hard the hostile states may describe the large-scale war rehearsal aimed at a sovereign state as "annual" and "defensive" one, they can never cover up their habitual, offensive and confrontational nature which has continuously "contributed" to infringing upon the sovereignty and security interests of the DPRK and worsening the regional situation.
Just before the "Freedom Shield", the US nuclear carrier "Carl Vinson" strike group has already entered the Pusan operation base in the Republic of Korea, "B-1B" strategic bomber and other air planes appear in the sky around the Korean peninsula every day and all sorts of powder-reeking war exercises of the US forces and the ROK army are conducted as advance ones in the sky and on the land and sea almost every day.
On the 6th, large-scale live firing drills of the air and ground forces of the United States and the Republic of Korea were staged near the southern border of the DPRK, involving huge arms and equipment, amid the watch of the brass hats of the US forces in the Republic of Korea and the ROK army, preluding the escalation of tension.
The 2025 "Freedom Shield" with all the existing vicious criteria which repeated the worst variation will soon bring the storm of the worsened situation to the Korean peninsula. We have already made clear that if the United States continues to renew its records in the anti-DPRK military demonstration, the DPRK will be naturally compelled to renew its records in the exercise of strategic deterrence.
The hostile states will pay a gruesome price for having ordered the self-defensive, just and threatening toughest counteraction of our state with their stupid and reckless war exercises, the commentary stressed.
