History Reveals US’s Criminal Nuclear Blackmail against DPRK (2)

Date: 12/03/2025 | Source: Naenara (En) | Read original version at source

The US moves continued even after the conclusion of an international treaty whereby no nuclear weapons shall be shipped into a non-nuclear state and region.

Entering the 1990s the US deceptively announced it had completely withdrawn tactical nuclear weapons from the ROK, but it has since neglected to cease the shipment of nuclear weapons into it.

The US agreed to expand the deployment of its nuclear strategic assets on the Korean peninsula at such confabs with the puppet ROK as the annual security consultative meeting. Accordingly, it has been regularly committing various kinds of nuclear hardware including strategic bombers and nuclear submarines, parts of its three nuclear strategic assets.

In October 2023 US nuclear strategic bomber B-52H touched down in an area of the puppet ROK for the first time, adding fuel to tension.

There is no region in the world like the Korean peninsula where the US nuclear assets are deployed on a constant basis.

It is by no means fortuitous that foreign media and experts fear the Korean peninsula is at the highest risk of the outbreak of the third world war in the planet and a new world war will surely be a nuclear war.

The US frantic nuclear war drills are the root cause of the grave threats to the sovereignty of the DPRK and the security of the region.

Over the past decades the US has systematically posed nuclear blackmail to the DPRK while staging nuclear war games in a bid to make up for its defeat in the Korean war and realize its strategy for world domination.

Starting with the Focus Retina joint military exercises in 1969, it has relentlessly staged such nuclear war games against the DPRK every year for more than half a century in collusion with the puppet ROK, repeatedly changing their code name into “Freedom Bolt,” “Team Spirit,” “RSOI,” “Key Resolve,” “Foal Eagle,” “Ulji Freedom Guardian,” “Ulji Freedom Shield” and others.

In particular, the US-led nuclear war drills against the DPRK are the most reckless playing with fire and heinous nuclear war games in view of their scale, danger and provocativeness.

Through the exercises the US has fleshed out the details of nuclear war scenarios against the DPRK such as “8-53,” “10-54,” “3-day war plan,” “120-day war plan,” “OPLAN 5027” and “OPLAN 5026.” It has also steadily built up its capabilities and completed procedures for using nuclear weapons in an actual war while frantically conducting a series of drills like simulated nuclear missile launches, nuclear war map-reading drills and nuclear bombing drills.

While staging the nuclear war drills, it has recently deployed latest military equipment which gained notoriety in the Yugoslav, Iraqi, Afghan and other wars as near as the southern border of the DPRK. Not only US troops overseas but also troops from its satellite countries are being massively dispatched in the name of the “UN Forces.”

The US started this year with an act of military provocation against the DPRK in tandem with its satellite countries, which foreshadows the apprehensive development of the military and political situation on the Korean peninsula throughout the year.

It is hard to estimate the damages and losses suffered by the Korean people due to the US nuclear blackmail that continues century after century.

According to a white paper released by the Institute of American Studies of the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK in June last year, the total damage sustained by the Korean people owing to the US imperialists’ moves of aggression and crimes against humanity amounts up to US$ 78 203 704 000 000, a sum based on documents of different times and the testimony of survivors. The sum is supposed to be much greater when the damage unconfirmed is taken into consideration.

All facts clearly prove that the biggest victim of the escalating nuclear war threats of the US is the DPRK and its people.

The only just way to firmly defend the destiny and security of the state from the ever-growing nuclear threats of the US lies in building up a nuclear deterrent more powerful and reliable enough to completely contain and control the enemies’ reckless nuclear blackmail.

This is the faith and determination the Korean people have cherished and hardened further as they have confronted the US for many decades.
