The delegation of the Security Council of the Russian Federation led by Secretary Sergei Shoigu on a visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea laid a wreath at the Liberation Tower on the 21st.
Present on the occasion were Pak Jong Chon, Vice-Chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea and Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Kim Jong Gyu, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alexandr Matsegora, Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the DPRK, and staff members of his embassy.
Guards of honour of the Korean People's Army were standing at the Liberation Tower.
The national anthems of the Russian Federation and the DPRK were played.
Amid the playing of the wreath-laying music, a wreath was placed before the Liberation Tower in the name of the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of martyrs of the Soviet Army before looking round the tower.
