Choe Ryong Hae, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and First Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of different units in Sukchon County of South Phyongan Province.
Going round the regional-industry factories in Sukchon County, he stressed the need to take thoroughgoing measures to supply raw materials in keeping with the physiographical and economic conditions of the region, give sci-tech lectures and passing-on-technique to the employees and keep directing efforts to establishing cultured ways in production and life.
At the Sukchon County Forestry Management Station he learned about the spring tree-planting plan and sapling production and touched on maximizing the rooting rate of trees of good species.
Acquainting himself with the construction of rice seedlings greenhouse of the Yakjon Farm, he underscored the need to study and introduce latest science and technology and learn after the experience of the advanced units so that the greenhouse can make a substantial contribution to increasing the grain production of the farm.
On the other hand, Choe Ryong Hae looked round the Namyang Salt Works and pointed out that the proportion of mechanization should be raised to provide a firm guarantee to the production growth.
