A meeting was held at the Korean Hall of Culture in Tokyo, Japan, on the 25th on the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).

Present there were Ho Jong Man, Chairman, Pak Ku Ho, First Vice-Chairman and Director of the Organizational Department, and Vice-Chairmen of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, the Chairman of the Central Audit Committee, the President of the Korean Federation ofWorkers in Commerce in Japan and the Rector of Korea University.

Also on hand were officials of the Central Standing Committee, the Director of the Research Institute on History of Korean Residents inJapan, the chairmen of the Kanto regional headquarters of Chongryon, leading officials of the major central organizations and business firms and Korean compatriots from all walks of life.

The national anthem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was played.

Pak Ku Ho, First Vice-Chairman and Director of the Organizational Department, courteously conveyed the letter "Let Us Write a New Great Chapter in the History of the Movement of Koreans in Japan by Carrying Forward the Patriotic Spirit of the Founder Generation" sent by the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un to the officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan on the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan.

Chairman Ho Jong Man made a report.

He spoke highly of the immortal exploits of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, pioneer of the movement of overseas compatriots in the independent era, founder of Chongryon and savior of life of Korean compatriots in Japan, and said.

The respected Marshal Kim Jong Un is wisely leading the General Association and the movement of Koreans in Japan, bringing the lifelong will and desire of the great leaders into reality even in the alien land.

His letter is the banner of victory and blueprint which will open a great new history of the movement of Koreans in Japan.

The reporter called upon all the officials of Chongryon and compatriots in Japan to hold fast to the programmatic letter of the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un as their treasured sword, write a great new history of the movement of Koreans in Japan and perform new achievements on the glorious course of 70 years, honoring Chongryon as the pioneer of patriotism, a paragon of loyalty and a model of the overseas Koreans' organization.

Vice-Chairman Nam Sung U read out a letter of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon to the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.

After the meeting, the participants saw the video program "Indomitable 70 years, Defending the Ideal and Spirit of the Founding" as well as the program on the greetings of congratulations sent by organizations of the motherland.
