The 35th Plenary Meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea took place at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on May 29.
Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the SPA Standing Committee, presided over the plenary meeting.
Present there were Vice-Chairmen Kang Yun Sok and Kim Ho Chol and other members of the SPA Standing Committee and, as observers, officials concerned of the SPA Standing Committee, the Secretariat of the Cabinet, ministries and national agencies.
The plenary meeting discussed as its agenda items the deliberation and adoption of the Law of the DPRK on Manpower Management, the Law of the DPRK on the Prevention of Soil Pollution and the Law of the DPRK on the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Special Zone and the recall and election of judges of the Supreme Court and people’s assessors.
There was a report on the main contents of the relevant draft laws discussed by the SPA Legislation Committee.
On the basis of the study and discussion of the proposed bills, a decree of the SPA Standing Committee “On adopting the Law of the DPRK on Manpower Management,” “On adopting the Law of the DPRK on the Prevention of Soil Pollution” and “On adopting the Law of the DPRK on the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Special Zone” was adopted with unanimous approval.
The plenary meeting recalled and elected judges and people’s assessors of the Supreme Court of the DPRK.
