Every province of the DPRK directs efforts to reducing the educational gap between urban and rural schools.
Efforts are being made in the educational sector to reinforce the online network to disseminate excellent teaching resources of the capital city and provincial towns to schools in rural and remote areas.
In an effort to help the teachers improve their qualifications, the schools in the rural and remote areas in Ryanggang Province hold meetings and discussions about how to improve teaching methods, by making the most of the teaching resources they have received through the online network.
North Hamgyong Province has newly inaugurated the provincial teachers’ in-service training school.
The school covering a total floor space of thousands of square metres has a laboratory for evaluating the excellent teaching methods created in the province, a general lecture hall and other rooms equipped with all necessary educational facilities.
South Hwanghae Province is pushing ahead with the work to train teachers for rural schools.
Particular efforts are put in to build up the capacity of teachers in the normal educational sector.
To this end, teachers in the normal educational sector are encouraged to explore and apply new approaches while learning good experiences in practice.
Teachers at Haeju Kim Jong Thae University of Education made a tour of excellent schools in Pyongyang and rural schools in the province.
The tour helped them learn from fine experiences and have a better understanding of the urgent issues in the education at rural schools.
Meanwhile, the province is paying close attention to ensuring the teachers in the normal educational sector regularly visit rural schools to give lectures and substantially help their teachers improve their qualifications.
