On October 1 2020, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, general secretary ofthe Workers’ Party of Korea, visited the construction sites for recovery in theflood-hit areas of Kimhwa County by travelling a long distance.
After hearing the report of a senior official of the county that itspeople were pleased with newly built houses, the General Secretary delightedlylooked at the houses. Then he said: Looking at the new houses built in therehabilitation area, I find one thing missing. It is that the houses weredesigned in the same way according to a fixed criterion. It would have beenbetter if they were designed to sustain originality and ensure the propercombination of artistic harmony with the surrounding environment and diversityon the principle of building them to suit the fine culture and geographicalcharacteristics of the area, offering convenience for the people and meetingtheir demand.
He went on to say that houses of regions should not be built uniformly andit is an important policy issue in regional construction.
Then he said that the construction of the country should be steadilydeveloped and that in the future it should be set as the main component andcore of regional construction to construct buildings in a non-repetitive andenvironment-friendly way, taking into account the characteristics of relevantlocal areas.
Looking up to the respected General Secretary, the officials were moved byhis detailed instruction.
Now the officials found themselves picturing the day when the socialistcountryside of the country would change in a distinctive way thanks to hisnoble intention and happy laughter and singing would reverberate more loudlythroughout the country.
