On August 25 1975, the DPRK was officially admitted to the Non-Aligned Movement with absolute support and approval from non-aligned countries.

After joining the movement, the DPRK made more positive efforts to frustrate the aggression and war moves and high-handed and arbitrary practices of the imperialists and dominationist forces in the international arena.

The Non-Aligned Movement has exercised considerable influence in the international arena as an independent and organized political force.

On September 1 1961, 25 nations started up the movement. It has now grown up and gained in strength as a broad international movement embracing well over a hundred countries, but challenges and difficulties continue to confront it.

High-handed and arbitrary practices based on the logic of strength are rampant in the international arena and the sovereignty and right to existence of the NAM member states are seriously violated.

The imperialists are encroaching upon the sovereignty of sovereign states while newly forming and expanding aggressive military blocs in order to maintain their supremacy. At the same time, they create distrust, antagonism and hostility between different countries and nations, causing humanitarian disasters accompanied by serious political crisis, military conflict, escalation of dispute and refugee crisis.

In particular, the anti-DPRK war moves the US and its vassal forces stage customarily have reached such extremely unprecedented limit in terms of recklessness, provocative character and danger and an actual "war" is already approaching every moment.

Therefore, the DPRK is expanding its overwhelming war response capability to deter any form of provocation and action at a stroke and taking perfect and full military preparedness.

To defend one’s sovereign rights fully conforms with the ideal of the Non-Aligned Movement implacably opposed to all forms of infringement on sovereignty and interference in other’s internal affairs and it will contribute to the development of the movement as well as world peace and security.

Unity is precisely strength and victory.

Unity is the only countermeasure of the Non-Aligned Movement to the imperialist forces’ expansion of domination by means of aggressive military blocs and their piecemeal-defeat strategy.

It is important for the non-aligned countries to support and encourage each other, develop their national economy on the principle of equality and mutual benefit and the principle of satisfying each other’s needs and put an end to economic subordination to Western countries.

It is necessary for them to enhance their collective joint action capacity in order to successfully overcome the existing crises facing the world, such as food and energy crises, health crises and climate change.

The Non-Aligned Movement will remain a powerful motive force in establishing a new international order based on independence and justice and achieving the cause of global independence.
