The 77-year-long history of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea shining with victory and glory is associated with the immortal exploits of the great leader Kim Jong Il who consolidated the might of the DPRK to be invincible.

Lecturer An Su Byol at the Korean Revolution Museum said that entering Kim Il Sung University on September 1, 1960, Kim Jong Il went up to the top of Ryongnam Hill and conceived a plan to glorify Korea all over the world, and continued:

"On the historic day, the great leader Kim Jong Il said it is our noble duty to the times and revolution, the country and people, to support the cause of the great leader Kim Il Sung through generations as the masters of the Korean revolution.

And he recited a poem, representing his faith and will to glorify Korea all over the world true to the lofty intention of Kim Il Sung.

The poem is the immortal masterpiece 'O Korea, I Will Add Glory to Thee'."

With a great ambition to demonstrate socialist Korea all over the world, Kim Jong Il successfully realized the desire of the great leader Kim Il Sung to build a prosperous country for tens of years with his uncommon wisdom and outstanding leadership.

He further developed and enriched the immortal Juche idea into a guideline of our state building and thoroughly applied it to the state building and activities with his extraordinary ideological and theoretical wisdom.

It was his unshakable will that Korea must shine all over the world as a powerful country in any adversity.

Kim Jong Il held aloft the banner of Songun (military-first) politics in the mid-1990s when the destiny of the country and socialism was facing serious challenges.

He saw to it that a state administrative system was established to conduct all work of the revolution and construction thoroughly on the principle of giving precedence to military affairs.

And he continuously visited army posts on Mt. Taedok, Hill 351, Height 1211, Mt. Osong, Cho Islet and Chol Pass, crossing high passes and covering rugged roads, to bolster up the military muscle and develop the self-reliant defence industry.

Thanks to his Songun-based revolutionary leadership, the Korean People's Army was prepared as the invincible revolutionary armed forces perfect politically and ideologically, militarily and technologically, and the DPRK demonstrated its might as a manufacturer and launcher of artificial earth satellites and a nuclear weapons state.

The DPRK could shine in the spotlight of the times as it defended the dignity and honour of socialism and the people smashing the moves of the imperialists and reactionaries against the DPRK and socialism at every step.

Kim Jong Il embroidered the whole course of the Songun-based revolutionary leadership with his love for and trust in the people and service personnel. He visited all places where there were people and soldiers to give strength and courage to them, bestow paternal love on them and take care of their destiny to the end with responsibility.

That is why the Korean people absolutely and invariably trusted and followed him and heroically struggled for the prosperity of the country with the might of the firm single-hearted unity around him.

The immortal exploits of Kim Jong Il who developed the DPRK as a socialist country with invincible might will shine in history forever.
