Choe Son Hui, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, met Li Qiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, at the Great Hall of the People on the 29th.

Present on the occasion were the party of the foreign minister, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the DPRK to China Ri Ryong Nam, Vice-Foreign Ministers Ma Zhaoxu and Sun Weidong and other officials of the Chinese Foreign Ministry and institutions concerned.

Choe Son Hui said that some time ago, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un had a significant meeting and talks with General Secretary Xi Jinping and reached an agreement on revitalizing high-level visits between both sides. She stressed that it is an invariable stand of the WPK and the DPRK government to further strengthen and develop the traditional DPRK-China relations of friendship and cooperation in keeping with the demand of the times.

She introduced the struggle of the Korean people who are making an all-out dash for definitely concluding all work planned this year, the last year of implementing the five-year plan for national economic development, and greeting the Ninth Congress of the WPK with success.

She wished continued successes to the Chinese people in their struggle to comprehensively propel the cause of national rejuvenation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with General Secretary Xi Jinping as its core.

Li Qiang said that some time ago, General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary Kim Jong Un had talks in Beijing and reached an important common understanding of the issues arising in further developing the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between China and the DPRK.

In recent years, the China-DPRK relations of friendship and cooperation have been further consolidated and developed under the direct concern and strategic leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary Kim Jong Un, he said and added that it is the firm external policy of China to attach greatest importance to the China-DPRK friendship and always approach and promote the development of Sino-Korean relations on a strategic level and from long-term aspect.

He expressed his will to actively promote the socialist cause by strengthening contact, cooperation and strategic communication together with the Korean side and thus bring greater well-being to the peoples of the two countries.
