A sculpture of the anti-Japanese guerrillas of Korea was set up at the Patriot Park in the suburbs of Moscow of Russia.

Its unveiling ceremony was held on the spot on October 1.

Present at the ceremony were No Kwang Chol, Minister of National Defence of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and Andrei Beloussov, Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation.

Also on hand were members of the military delegation of the DPRK, Sin Hong Chol, DPRK Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia, the military attache of his embassy, Vladimir Medinsky, Assistant to the Russian President, Andrei Kartapolov, Chairman of the Committee on Defence of the State Duma, and officials of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A monument was introduced and defence ministers of the DPRK and Russia cut the unveiling tape amid the playing of music.

Speeches were made.

Andrei Beloussov said the sculpture of the anti-Japanese guerrillas of Korea is a symbol of the invincible militant friendship between the peoples of the two countries and the monument will make a great contribution to cherishing the memory of the victorious wartime generations and preserving the historical truth.

No Kwang Chol, in his speech, said the two countries and peoples have been firmly united with the feelings of comrade-in-arms and comrade in the bloody battles against the common enemies and the proud tradition has become the cornerstone which developed the DPRK-Russia relations into the relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance. And he stressed that victory and glory are always in store for the peoples of the two countries that are steadily strengthening the militant friendship and unity.

Vladimir Medinsky said the monument symbolizing the militant friendship between the two countries sealed with blood during the Second World War and in the course of struggle for winning back the Kursk Region represents the common history, and expressed the belief that the relations of friendship and cooperation between Russia and the DPRK would be further expanded and developed in all spheres in the future.

After speeches, floral baskets and flowers were laid before the sculpture.

Written on the ribbon of the floral basket in the name of the military delegation of the DPRK were the letters reading; "The Anti-Japanese Revolutionary Martyrs Will Be Immortal."

The participants paid noble respects to the anti-Japanese revolutionary martyrs.

Earlier, the DPRK military delegation laid a wreath before the tomb of unknown soldiers by the Wall of the Kremlin.
