A national symposium was held at the People's Palace of Culture in Pyongyang on October 3 to mark the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Present there were Choe Tong Myong, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, officials of the Party and administrative organs and working people's organizations in Pyongyang, information officials in charge of theory from the armed forces organs, the fields of science, education, art and literature and the media and Party cadre training institutions.
At the symposium, Ri Hi Yong, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, Ri Yong Sik, chief secretary of the Cabinet Committee of the WPK, Pak Yong Il, vice-director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army, Ri Yong Sik, headmaster of the Central Cadres Training School of the WPK, and Ju Chang Il, department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, presented papers that proved the immortal exploits of the peerlessly great men, who pioneered the road of founding a revolutionary Party and set an epoch-making example in building a socialist ruling party with their original ideas and great leadership, and explained the theoretical and practical issues arising in steadily carrying forward the cause of building the Juche-oriented party.
Speakers proved that President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il were the outstanding leaders and peerless statesmen who founded the WPK and developed it into an invincible revolutionary Party.
They explained that the 80-year ruling history of the WPK is a proud course in which it has led the socialist cause of Juche to victory, taking responsibility for the destiny of the people.
Speakers said that the WPK is the great party reliably defending the sovereignty and security of the state by stockpiling the strongest national defence capabilities.
They proved that the devoted service to the people is the only justification for existence and eternal nature of the WPK.
They stressed the need to successfully carry forward the ideal and spirit of the Party founding under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and thus usher in a golden age of strengthening the whole Party and a new era of national prosperity.
The speakers expressed their resolve to grasp the immortal exploits of the Party, uphold the idea and leadership of Kim Jong Un with single mind and loyalty and fulfill their responsibilities and duties in the struggle to strengthen the Party's leadership ability and fighting efficiency in every way.
