Pyongyang, October 10 (KCNA) -- The light industrial goods exhibition "Development of Light Industry-2025" opened in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, at a time when all the people across the country significantly celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the glorious Workers' Party of Korea as a great revolutionary auspicious event with absolute trust in and boundless gratitude for the motherly Party which is bringing the centuries-old desires of the people into brilliant reality.

Displayed at the venue of the exhibition are photos of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un guiding the work of the light industry sector.

The exhibition, themed "Today's Light Industry and the New Era of Regional Rejuvenation Associated with the Devoted Service for the People", is of great significance in adding eternal luster to the undying leadership exploits of Kim Jong Un , who unfolded a bright blueprint for improving the people's standard of living and bringing about a comprehensive rejuvenation of the state and is devoting himself to developing the light industry of the country, and in producing more quality famous goods and products favoured by the people by sharing and exchanging successes, experience and advanced technologies gained in the sector of light industry.

An opening ceremony took place at the Light Industry Hall of the Three-Revolution Exhibition House on Oct. 9.

Present there were Kim Tok Hun, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Han Kwang Sang, department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, Kim Myong Hun, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Kim Chang Sok, minister of Light Industry, Jo Yong Chol, minister of Regional Industry, the participants in the celebrations of the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK, officials concerned and officials, scientists and technicians of the units that exhibited their products and relevant units.

Kim Tok Hun made an opening address.

The speaker said that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , who set it as the most important affair to improve the people's standard of living, took epochal measures for supplying in time raw and other materials necessary for decisively increasing the production of consumer goods and indicated the clear orientation of advance for the development of light industry and wisely led it.

Thanks to the noble intention and energetic leadership of the Party Central Committee to achieve simultaneous and balanced development of all sectors, regions and units, proud entities of regional rejuvenation have been simultaneously erected on this land and production revitalized to bring about a radical change in the material and cultural life of the regional people, he said.

He expressed the belief that the exhibition would mark an important occasion in making the people across the country experience the important change in the new era of the comprehensive national rejuvenation and in giving momentum to the future struggle for further developing the country's light industry through the drive in which one overtakes, learns from others and swaps experiences with them.

At the end of the ceremony, the participants looked round the exhibition venue.

It is full of peculiar quality products instilling into the visitors the pride and self-confidence in the rapidly developing light industry and the conviction of a better future when all the people would enjoy a more civilized and affluent life.

Presented to the exhibition were over 600 kinds of more than 68 000 light industrial goods such as shoes, cosmetics, foodstuffs, household goods and hygiene goods produced by 580-odd units across the country, including the Wonsan Leather Shoes Factory, the Pyongyang Leather Shoes Factory, the Pyongyang Hosiery Factory, the Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory, the Songdowon General Foodstuff Factory, the Amnokgang General Foodstuff Factory, the Paekunsan General Foodstuff Factory and the Pyongyang Dental Hygiene Products Factory, which have been upgraded and modernized under the care of the great Party Central Committee.

Drawing attention of visitors were many products developed and produced by the General Bureau of the Tanchon Area Mining Industry, the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill, the Pyongyang Automation Appliances Factory and the Hadang Unha Garment Factory that have waged a powerful drive for increased production and creation while regarding the people's assessment as absolute criterion.

Favored by the visitors in particular were instant boiled rice, instant noodle, grain chips and other foodstuffs the Taedonggang Kumok Instant Boiled Rice Factory produced in a diverse and convenient way to suit the taste of the people, true to the Party's policy of changing the dietary culture into the white rice and wheat flour dishes as main foods.

Regional-industry factories in Songchon County, Jaeryong County and other cities and counties, which were built wonderfully according to the Party's grand policy on regional development, have produced condiments with wheat as the main raw materials and various special products representing their units, which clearly showed the bright prospect of regional industry that entered a new stage of development.

During the exhibition there will take place a lecture on the immortal leadership exploits of the Workers' Party of Korea for the development of light industry, inter-sector sci-tech presentations and experience-sharing meetings. -0-
