Chongnyu Primary School in Taedonggang District, Pyongyang has set an example in developing new teaching methods and generalizing them throughout the country.
Characteristically, the school applies science games to lessons to train the students to be more creative and expressive.
Science game is a kind of teaching practice designed to help the students realize the scientific principles while playing themselves with usual things around them.
The interesting games played under the guidance of teachers give the students a vivid understanding and scientific knowledge of natural phenomena and enhance their intellectual and creative application ability.
Now the school introduces many science games suited to the students’ psychological characteristics to the lessons of all subjects and extracurricular education.
Since the introduction of the science games, the school teachers say, the students have showed an even higher degree of concentration and the teachers have attained their aim in teaching relevant subjects on a high level.
In the course of acquiring new knowledge through practical experience, the students grow eager to learn more and more and further prepare themselves as talents with practical ability.
In addition, the school has established a database embracing new and superior teaching plans and methods, videos and other information to improve the qualifications of the teachers.
The new teaching methods developed by the school have been generalized throughout the country.
