The Yangdok Hot Spring Resort was built into a comprehensive hot-spring cure service base and multi-functional sports and recreational complex in December 2019.
There is a place crowded with people all the time in the resort.
It is the egg-boiling site in the Outdoor Spa Baths.
When eggs are put in a basket and steeped in the hot spring water of 70 to 80 degrees centigrade for some minutes, they are half-boiled absorbing enough medicinal ingredients of the hot spring water.
Those eggs are soft and sweet and digest well.
The holidaymakers can taste the eggs boiled in the hot spring water thanks to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who proposed developing the hot spring resort of Korean style and guided the whole course of its construction.
One day in October 2018, Kim Jong Un visited the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort under construction.
He checked the temperature of the hot spring water in person and said with pleasure that it is hot enough to boil eggs.
Hearing an official's answer that eggs could be boiled in 17 minutes, he suggested boiling them for 20 minutes.
And he sat on a chair beside the spring mouth and waited until the eggs were boiled.
The dishes to put eggs in and a cupboard with seasonings were all provided under his meticulous care.
To taste boiled eggs in the middle of hot steam, breathing in fresh air, is one of the unique flavours that can be experienced only at the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort.
