The Third Minsk International Conference on Security of Eurasia was held in Belarus on October 28 and 29.

Attending the conference were high-level delegates of 48 countries and 7 international organizations including the foreign ministers of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Belarus, Russia, Hungary and Myanmar.

DPRK Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui made a speech at a plenary opening meeting.

She said:

NATO, the world's largest war machine, is raising extreme frenzy of confrontation with Russia in the west of the Eurasian region, bringing a fiery cloud of war to the whole of Europe, whereas in the east the US-Japan-ROK tripartite military alliance system led by the United States has started full-scale operation, seriously threatening the security environment of the region.

Today the security state of the region and the world is shaken to its very foundation, which is attributable to the high-handedness, arbitrariness and double-standard acts of the United States and its followers persisting in open military invasion, interference in internal affairs and war moves against sovereign states to maintain the hegemonic unipolar world.

In recent years all sorts of bilateral and multilateral war drills against the DPRK have been conducted so frequently, regardless of time and place, with the involvement of scenario for practical use of nuclear weapons, creating an unprecedented war crisis. What is more serious is that NATO, namely, responsible for the security of the Northern Atlantic, has become undisguised in its military intervention in the Asia-Pacific region including the Korean peninsula, placing another NATO in the eastern hemisphere of the earth.

The DPRK will never stop even a moment and concede even a little in its efforts to strengthen the self-reliant defence capabilities for safeguarding the dignity, right to development and security interests of the state and defending peace of the region and the world in the future, too.

The plenary meeting will adopt a joint statement reflecting the unanimous aspiration and desire of mankind loving independence, justice and peace. It is of great importance in strengthening unity and cooperation between the regional countries and defending the global peace and security environment.

She expressed a consistent stand of the DPRK government to develop the good-neighbour relations with all countries of the world aspiring after justice and independence and discharge its responsible mission to build an equal multipolar world and ensure world peace and security.

On the other hand, Choe Son Hui laid a wreath at the Monument to Victory in the Patriotic War in the city of Minsk.
